📋 Before You Begin
- Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
- Turn the ignition off and remove the key or shut off the fob-equipped system.
- Open the glove box and clear out any contents before lowering it.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open and support the glove box
- Use your hands to open the glove box and remove any items inside.
- Let the glove box lower slowly.
- Move gently to avoid broken tabs.
Step 2: Release the glove box stops
- Use a trim panel tool if needed to help guide the side stops past the opening.
- Lower the glove box until it hangs down and exposes the HVAC filter access area behind it.
Step 3: Remove the cabin air filter cover
- Use your hands to unclip or unhook the cabin air filter access door behind the glove box.
- Set the cover aside.
Step 4: Remove the old filter
- Use your hands to slide the old cabin air filter straight out.
- Pay attention to the airflow arrow on the filter so the new one goes in the same direction.
Step 5: Install the new filter
- Use your hands to slide the new cabin air filter into the housing.
- Make sure the airflow arrow points the same direction as the old filter.
- Do not force it if it binds.
Step 6: Reinstall the filter cover and glove box
- Use your hands to snap the filter cover back into place.
- Lift the glove box back up and re-seat the side stops.
- Close the glove box and make sure it opens and closes smoothly.

- Turn the blower fan on and check airflow from the vents.
- Listen for any rattles from the glove box area.
- If airflow seems weak, recheck that the filter is seated correctly and not folded.
