🚗 Crosstour - Rear Blinker Bulb Replacement

Let's get your rear blinker (turn signal) working again! This is a simple job—no special tools needed. You'll be working in the trunk area, so make sure your Crosstour is parked safely and turned off.

  • 🛠️ Tools & Parts Needed
    • Replacement bulb: 7440A (amber)
    • Phillips screwdriver (the one with a cross-shaped tip)
    • Gloves (optional, keeps oils off the bulb)
  • ⚠️ Safety First!
    • Turn off the engine and remove the key.
    • Let the bulb cool if it was just on—they get hot!

🔧 Steps to Replace the Rear Blinker Bulb

  • 🧰 Open the trunk.
  • 🧰 Locate the access panel on the side of the trunk, behind the tail light. It's a small door in the trunk lining.
  • 🧰 Remove the access panel by pulling it open with your fingers.
  • 🧰 Find the turn signal bulb socket. It's the middle socket on the back of the tail light assembly.
  • 🧰 Twist the socket counterclockwise (left) and pull it out gently.
  • 🧰 Remove the old bulb. Pull it straight out of the socket.
  • 🧰 Install the new bulb. Push it straight into the socket until it clicks.
  • 🧰 Reinstall the socket. Line it up, insert it, and twist clockwise (right) to lock it in place.
  • 🧰 Test the new bulb. Turn on your hazard lights or use the turn signal to check it works.
  • 🧰 Replace the access panel. Snap it back into place.

💡 Tips & Tricks

  • 🧤 Wear gloves or use a tissue to handle the new bulb—oils from your skin can shorten its life.
  • 🔄 If one blinker is out, the other might go soon. Consider replacing both sides together.
  • 🛑 If the new bulb doesn't work, double-check it's seated firmly and the socket is locked in.
