Step 9: Reinstall the Water Pump Pulley
- Place the pulley onto the new water pump.
- Start the pulley bolts by hand.
- Use a 10mm socket or 12mm socket to snug the bolts evenly.
- Use a torque wrench rated 5-80 ft-lbs to tighten the pulley bolts to Torque to 8-12 Nm (71-106 in-lbs).
Step 10: Reinstall the Serpentine Belt
- Route the belt around the pulleys using your photo as a guide.
- Use the serpentine belt tool (specialty) to rotate the tensioner.
- Slide the belt onto the final smooth pulley.
- Slowly release the tensioner.
- Check that the belt ribs sit fully inside each grooved pulley.
- Tip: Misaligned belts shred quickly.
Step 11: Refill the Cooling System
- Use a funnel with long neck to add Hyundai-compatible coolant into the radiator or pressurized reservoir.
- If using concentrate coolant, mix it 50/50 with distilled water before filling.

- Fill the overflow reservoir to the MAX line.
Step 12: Reconnect Battery and Bleed Air
