- Slowly return the tensioner to its resting position. Do not let it snap back.

Step 4: Remove the Old Belt

- Slowly release the breaker bar so the tensioner applies pressure to the belt.
- Do not tighten or loosen the tensioner pulley bolt. It was used only as a leverage point, so no torque specification applies.
Step 8: Verify Belt Alignment

- Use the telescoping inspection mirror to inspect the lower crankshaft and air-conditioning compressor pulleys.
- Confirm the belt is centered, every rib is correctly seated, and no section is twisted or hanging over a pulley edge.
- Remove the 19mm six-point socket, 1/2-inch-drive long-handle breaker bar, light, and mirror from the engine compartment.
