The MAF sensor on your Sierra measures incoming air so the engine computer can set the right fuel mixture. If it fails, you may see rough idle, poor fuel economy, hesitation, or a check engine light. This is a straightforward repair and usually takes only a few minutes.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.5-1 hour
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- Turn the ignition off and remove the key before unplugging the sensor.
- Let the engine cool if it has been running.
- Do not touch the sensing element inside the MAF sensor.
- Avoid using oil-based cleaners or compressed air on the sensor element.
