πŸ“‹ Before You Begin

  • Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
  • Open the hood and let the engine cool if it was recently running.
  • Keep the airbox area clean so no debris falls into the intake.

πŸ”¨ Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open the air filter housing

  • Locate the black air filter box on the engine compartment.
  • Use a flat-blade screwdriver if your airbox has a retaining screw or clamp tab that needs help releasing.
  • Unclip or loosen the airbox cover fasteners.
  • Keep the cover level as you lift it.

Step 2: Remove the old filter

  • Lift the old engine air filter straight out of the airbox.
  • Check for leaves, dust, or debris inside the housing.
  • Use a clean shop towel to wipe out any loose dirt from the airbox.

Step 3: Install the new filter

  • Place the new engine air filter into the housing in the same direction as the old one.
  • Make sure the filter edge sits fully in the groove all the way around.
  • Do not force it.

Step 4: Reinstall the airbox cover

  • Set the cover back on the housing carefully so the seal lines up.
  • Reconnect all clips or fasteners by hand first.
  • If a screw was present, use the flat-blade screwdriver to snug it down.
  • There is no torque spec for this service.

βœ… After Repair
