• Park on level ground and set the parking brake.

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open the air filter housing

• Use your hands to release the retaining clips on the air box cover.
• If any clip feels tight, gently lift it upward until it pops free.
• Do not force the cover.

Step 2: Lift the air box cover

• Carefully raise the cover and move it aside enough to access the filter.
• Do not disconnect any hoses unless they block access.

Step 3: Remove the old air filter

• Lift the old filter straight out of the housing.
• Check the box for leaves, dirt, or debris and wipe it clean with a shop towel.
• Keep debris out of the intake opening.

Step 4: Install the new air filter

• Place the new filter into the housing in the same orientation as the old one.
• Make sure the filter sits flat all the way around the edge.

• Lower the cover back into place.
• Reinstall all retaining clips by hand until they snap shut.
