🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the air box
- Locate the air box on the engine side of the air intake system.
- Use a flat-blade screwdriver if needed to release any retaining clips or screws on the air box lid.
- Lift the air box cover straight up and set it aside.
- Keep dirt out of the intake opening.
Step 2: Remove the old filter
- Use your hands to lift the old engine air filter out of the air box.
- Check for leaves, dust, or debris in the bottom of the housing.
- Wipe out the housing if needed before installing the new filter.
Step 3: Install the new filter
- Place the new engine air filter into the air box in the same direction as the old one.
- Make sure it sits flat all the way around the seal.
- A crooked filter can let dirt bypass it.
Step 4: Reinstall the air box cover
- Set the air box lid back into place.
- Use the flat-blade screwdriver to tighten or secure any clips or screws removed earlier.
- Make sure the housing is fully closed and latched.
