🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the air box
- Find the air filter housing on the passenger side of the engine bay.
- Use a flat-blade screwdriver to release the air box clips, if equipped.
- If your air box has a small retaining bolt, use a 10mm socket and ratchet to remove it.
- Lift the air box lid carefully.
Step 2: Remove the old filter
- Lift the old engine air filter straight out.
- Check for leaves, dirt, or sand inside the air box.
- Use a clean shop towel to wipe out loose debris only.
- Do not let dirt fall into the intake.
Step 3: Install the new filter
- Place the new engine air filter into the air box in the same direction as the old one.
- Make sure the filter seals evenly all the way around.
- Do not force it in if it does not sit flat.
Step 4: Close the air box
- Lower the air box lid into place.
- Reinstall any 10mm fastener with the 10mm socket and ratchet, if removed.
- Snap the clips back into place with your hand or tighten the fastener snugly.
- Torque to 5-7 Nm (44-62 in-lbs) for any small air box fastener, if equipped.
