Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open the hood

• Use your hand to pull the hood release inside the cabin near the driver footwell.
• Use your fingers to release the secondary hood latch at the front center of the hood.
• Raise the hood fully and make sure it is securely supported.
• Put on safety glasses and nitrile gloves.

Step 2: Find the engine air filter box

• Use a flashlight to locate the black plastic air filter box.

Step 7: Close the air filter box

• Use both hands to lower the air filter box cover back into position.
• Make sure the cover sits evenly on the new filter.
• Use your fingers to snap the metal spring clips back into place.
• No torque spec applies because the air box uses hand-operated clips.

Step 8: Final visual check

• Use a flashlight to inspect the air box seam.
• Confirm there are no gaps around the air filter box cover.
• Make sure no tools, towels, or packaging are left in the engine bay.
