šØ Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open and clear the glovebox

- Use nitrile gloves to keep the new filter clean.
Step 2: Lower the glovebox door
- Locate the glovebox āstopsā (the plastic tabs that keep it from dropping down).
- Gently push in on both sides of the glovebox (near the stops) to let the door swing down farther.
- If a small damper strap is present on the right side, carefully pop it off using a plastic trim removal tool (specialty). Go slow to avoid breaking clips.
Step 3: Remove the cabin filter access cover
- Behind the glovebox youāll see the cabin filter housing cover.
- Use a flashlight to see the cover tabs clearly.
- Release the tabs by hand, or gently with the plastic trim removal tool (specialty), then pull the cover off.
Step 4: Remove the old cabin air filter
- Slide the old filter straight out.
- Keep it level as you pull it out to reduce spilled debris.
Step 5: Install the new cabin air filter
- Check the airflow arrow on the filter frame (it must point the correct direction).
- Slide the new filter into the housing the same way the old one came out (donāt bend it hard).
- If the filter has a soft foam edge, make sure it seats evenly all the way around.
Step 6: Reassemble the glovebox
- Reinstall the housing cover and press until the tabs click in place.
- Reconnect the damper strap (if equipped) by pressing it back onto its pin.
- Lift the glovebox door back up and push in the sides again so the stops pass back into position.
ā After Repair
- Start your Colorado and run the fan on medium to confirm airflow is normal and there are no rattles.
