🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the glove box
- Use your hand to open the glove box fully.
- Remove any items from inside so they do not fall out.
Step 2: Lower the glove box
- Use your hand to gently squeeze the glove box sides inward.
- Let the glove box swing down past its normal stop.
- Go slowly to avoid breaking the stops.
Step 3: Remove the cabin filter access cover
- Use a trim panel tool (plastic) to carefully release the cabin filter cover behind the glove box.
- Pull the cover straight off once the retaining tabs are free.
Step 4: Remove the old cabin air filter
- Use your hand to slide the old filter out of the housing.
- Note the airflow arrow direction on the old filter before removing it.
- Match the arrow on the new filter.
Step 5: Install the new cabin air filter
- Use your hand to slide the new filter into the housing.
- Make sure the airflow arrow points the same direction as the old one.
- Push it fully into place until it seats evenly.
Step 6: Reinstall the access cover
- Use your hand to snap the filter cover back into place.
- Make sure all tabs are fully engaged.
Step 7: Raise and secure the glove box
- Use your hand to lift the glove box back into position.
- Gently release the sides so it returns to normal operation.
- Open and close it once to confirm it moves correctly.

- Start the vehicle and turn the blower fan on.
- Check for strong airflow from the vents.
- Listen for any rattles from the glove box area.
- If airflow is weak, recheck the filter orientation and seating.
