🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the glove box
- Use your hands to open the glove box fully.
- Remove any items inside so they do not fall out.
Step 2: Release the glove box stops
- Use a flat trim tool to gently press in the side walls of the glove box.
- Let the glove box swing down slowly.
- Do not force the hinges.
Step 3: Remove the cabin filter cover
- Locate the rectangular filter access cover behind the glove box.
- Use your hands or a flat trim tool to release the cover tabs.
- Set the cover aside.
Step 4: Remove the old filter
- Use your hands to pull the old cabin air filter straight out.
- Note the airflow direction arrow on the filter before removing it.
- Remember the arrow direction.
Step 5: Install the new filter
- Use your hands to slide the new filter into the housing.
- Make sure the airflow arrow points the same direction as the old filter.
- Seat the filter fully and evenly.
Step 6: Reinstall the cover and glove box
- Use your hands to snap the filter cover back into place.
- Lift the glove box back up and press the side walls inward if needed.
- Make sure the glove box opens and closes normally.
