📋 Before You Begin

• 🅿️ Park your TITAN on level ground and set the parking brake.
• 🧤 Open the passenger door fully so you have room to work.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open and Empty the Glove Box

• Use your hands to open the glove box fully.
• Remove all contents so nothing spills when the glove box is lowered.
• Use a flashlight to look along the right side of the glove box for the small damper arm.

Step 2: Release the Glove Box Damper

• Use your fingers or a trim removal tool to gently slide the damper arm off its mounting pin.
• The damper arm is the small plastic support that lets the glove box open slowly.
• Do not twist the damper.

Step 3: Lower the Glove Box

• Use both hands to press inward on the left and right sides of the glove box.
• This releases the glove box stops from the dashboard opening.
• Slowly lower the glove box toward the floor.
• If resistance is high, use a trim removal tool to help guide each stop past the dash edge.

Step 4: Locate the Cabin Filter Door

• Use a flashlight to look behind the glove box area.
• Find the rectangular cabin filter access cover on the HVAC housing.
• The HVAC housing is the black plastic box that holds the heater and air conditioning parts.

Step 5: Remove the Filter Access Cover

• Use your fingers to press the release tabs on the filter cover.
• If the cover is tight, use a trim removal tool gently at the edge.
• If your filter cover uses screws, use a Phillips #2 screwdriver to remove them.
• Set the cover aside where it will not get stepped on.

Step 6: Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter

• Use your fingers to pull the old cabin air filter straight out of the slot.
• Watch the airflow arrow printed on the old filter before removing it completely.
• Use a flashlight to inspect the filter slot for leaves or debris.
• Remove loose debris by hand while wearing nitrile gloves.
• Do not push debris inward.

Step 7: Install the New Cabin Air Filter

• Use your hands to slide the new cabin air filter into the housing.
• Match the airflow arrow direction to the original filter orientation.
• On your TITAN, the filter must sit flat and fully inside the slot before the cover goes back on.
• Do not crush or fold the filter pleats.

Step 8: Reinstall the Filter Cover

• Use your hands to snap the cabin filter access cover back into place.
• If screws were removed, use a Phillips #2 screwdriver to reinstall them snugly.
• No torque spec is required; tighten plastic screws gently until seated.
• Plastic tabs break easily.

Step 9: Raise and Secure the Glove Box

• Use both hands to raise the glove box back toward the dashboard.
• Press the glove box sides inward and guide the stops back into the dash opening.
• Reconnect the damper arm onto its mounting pin by hand.
• Open and close the glove box once to make sure it moves smoothly.

• ✅ Check that air comes from the vents normally.
• ✅ Listen for rattling or ticking, which can mean debris is touching the blower fan.
