Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the glove box
- Use your hand to open the glove box and remove any items inside.

Step 2: Release the glove box stops
- Use a trim panel tool to gently press in on both glove box sides.
- Let the glove box drop down fully until it hangs open.
- Do not pry hard on the plastic stops.
Step 3: Remove the cabin filter access cover
- Use the trim panel tool or your fingers to unclip the filter cover behind the glove box.
- Set the cover aside in a safe place.
Step 4: Remove the old filter
- Use your hand to slide the old cabin air filter out of the housing.
- Pay attention to the airflow arrow on the old filter before removing it.
- Note the arrow direction before discarding.
Step 5: Install the new filter
- Use your hand to slide the new cabin air filter into the housing.
- Make sure the airflow arrow matches the direction shown on the old filter.
- Push it in until it seats fully.
Step 6: Reinstall the cover and glove box
- Use your hand to snap the filter cover back into place.
- Lift the glove box back up and press the sides inward with your hands until the stops pass their openings.
- Close the glove box slowly to make sure it moves freely.
