📋 Before You Begin

• Park your Corolla on level ground.
• Shift to Park and set the parking brake.
• Turn the ignition off.
• Empty the glove box so items do not fall out.
• A cabin air filter has an airflow arrow. This arrow must point the same direction as the original filter when installed.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open and Empty the Glove Box

• Use your hands to open the glove box fully.
• Remove all papers, manuals, and loose items from inside.
• Use a flashlight if the area is hard to see.

Step 2: Release the Glove Box Damper

• Look on the right side of the glove box for the small damper arm.
• A damper arm is a small plastic link that slows the glove box as it opens.
• Use your hands to gently slide the damper arm off its small pin.
• Do not pry hard.

Step 3: Lower the Glove Box

• Use both hands to press inward on the left and right sides of the glove box.

• Match the airflow arrow direction to the original filter orientation.

Step 7: Reinstall the Filter Cover

• Use your hands to align the cabin filter cover with the opening.
• Push the cover on until the tabs click into place.
• Gently tug the cover to confirm it is locked.

Step 8: Reinstall the Glove Box

• Use both hands to lift the glove box back toward the dashboard.
• Press the sides inward slightly so the stops pass back into position.
• Reconnect the right-side damper arm by sliding it back onto its pin.
• Open and close the glove box once to make sure it moves smoothly.
