This is an easy first DIY job. The filter is behind your Canyon’s glove box, and the replacement is usually completed without removing screws.

📋 Before You Begin

• 📋 Park your Canyon on level ground and switch off the climate-control system.
• 📋 Open the front passenger door fully for working room.
• 📋 Remove everything from the glove box.
• 📋 No infotainment menu, scan tool, or service mode is required.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Lower the glove box

• Use the LED flashlight to inspect both sides of the open glove box.
• Support the glove box with one hand.
• Press both glove-box side walls inward by hand until their stops clear the dashboard opening.
• Carefully let the glove box swing downward.
• Warm plastic flexes more safely than cold plastic.

Step 2: Open the filter housing

• Use the LED flashlight to locate the rectangular cabin-filter cover behind the glove box.
• Release the cover’s locking tabs by hand.
• Pull the cover straight outward and place it somewhere clean.

Step 3: Remove the old filter

• Wear nitrile work gloves and safety glasses.
• Note the direction of the airflow arrow printed on the old filter before moving it.
• Pull the old filter straight out. Keep it level so trapped debris doesn’t spill into the blower housing.

Step 4: Clean the housing

• Use the HEPA vacuum with crevice attachment to remove loose leaves and dust near the filter opening.
• Do not push the vacuum attachment deeply into the HVAC housing.
• Do not spray cleaner, water, or compressed air into the opening.

Step 5: Install the new filter

• Hold the new filter so its airflow arrow points in the same direction as the arrow on the old filter.
• Slide it gently into the housing without crushing or folding the filter media.
• Confirm the filter frame sits flat and fully inside the housing.

Step 6: Reassemble the glove box

• Push the filter cover into position by hand until both locking tabs click.
• Raise the glove box while pressing its side walls inward.
• Guide both glove-box stops back behind the dashboard opening.
• Open and close the glove box once to confirm smooth movement.

• ✅ Start your Canyon and run the blower through every fan speed.
• ✅ Check that airflow is strong and there are no fluttering or rubbing noises.
• ✅ If airflow is weak, reopen the housing and confirm the filter isn’t folded or installed backward.
• ✅ Inspect the filter about every 12 months, sooner in Sonipat’s dusty conditions.
