• 📋 Open the front passenger door and empty the glove compartment.
• 📋 Compare the new filter’s dimensions with the old filter before installation.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open and empty the glove compartment

• Use the LED flashlight to inspect both sides of the open glove compartment.
• Remove all contents so nothing falls behind the dashboard.

Step 2: Disconnect the glove-compartment damper

• Find the small damper arm attached to the right side of the glove compartment. The damper is the plastic arm that makes the door open slowly.
• Support the glove compartment with one hand.
• Use your fingers to slide the damper connection sideways and off its mounting pin.
• Don’t pull the arm toward you with force. The small plastic end can crack.

Step 3: Lower the glove compartment

• Press both side walls of the glove compartment inward with your hands.
• Move the built-in stops past the dashboard opening.
• Carefully lower the compartment toward the passenger floor. It can remain attached at its lower hinges.
• Press near the stops, not the center.

Step 4: Remove the filter cover

• Use the LED flashlight to locate the rectangular filter housing behind the glove compartment.
• Press the cover’s retaining tabs inward with your fingers.
• Pull the cover straight outward and place it somewhere clean.

Step 5: Remove the old cabin filter

• Wear the nitrile work gloves and safety glasses.
• Slide the old filter straight out while keeping its dirty side level.
• Note the direction of the airflow arrow printed on the old filter before removing it completely.
• Use the LED flashlight to check the housing for leaves or loose debris.
• Remove loose debris by hand. Don’t push dirt deeper into the blower opening.

Step 6: Install the new filter

• Match the new filter’s AIR FLOW arrow to the direction shown by the old filter.
• If the new filter is marked UP instead, install that arrow pointing upward.
• Slide the filter evenly into its guides without crushing or folding the pleats.
• Make sure the filter sits flat and doesn’t protrude from the housing.

Step 7: Reinstall the filter cover

• Align the cover with the filter housing.
• Press it into place by hand until both retaining tabs click.
• Gently tug the cover to confirm it’s locked.

Step 8: Raise the glove compartment

• Lift the glove compartment toward the dashboard.
• Press both side walls inward and guide the stops back through the opening.
• Release the sides and check that both stops rest correctly against the dashboard structure.

Step 9: Reconnect the damper

• Hold the glove compartment partly open.
• Slide the damper arm back over its mounting pin with your fingers.
• Open and close the glove compartment slowly to verify smooth movement.
