🔧 12V Auxiliary Battery - Replacement
On your Camry Hybrid, the most common “battery” replacement is the 12V auxiliary battery, not the high-voltage hybrid battery. This battery powers the computers, locks, lights, and boot-up systems. Replacing it requires careful disconnect/reconnect order and a battery reset afterward.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate | Estimated Time: 1-2 hours
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- Do not touch or open the orange high-voltage hybrid system components.
- Work with the vehicle powered off, key fob far away, and parking brake engaged.
- The 12V battery is heavy. Lift it straight up to avoid back strain.
- Disconnect the negative cable first and reconnect it last.
- If you see orange cables or covers, stop. Those are hybrid high-voltage parts.
- Battery disconnect is required before removal.
