📋 Before You Begin

• Park your Accord on level ground and set the parking brake.
• Turn ignition power OFF and remove the key/fob from the vehicle.
• Roll the front window fully down. This gives you more room to handle the door trim panel.
• Protect the painted door edge and mirror area with 2-inch masking tape.
• Disconnect the negative battery cable using a 10mm socket. Wait at least 3 minutes before unplugging door connectors.
• A plastic trim removal tool is a non-metal pry tool that helps remove panels without scratching them.
• Panel clips are small plastic fasteners that snap the door panel to the metal door. Some may break during removal.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Remove the front door switch trim

• Use a plastic trim removal tool to gently lift the power window switch trim from the armrest area.
• Unplug the electrical connectors by pressing each lock tab by hand.
• If a connector is tight, use a plastic trim removal tool to press the tab while pulling on the connector body.
• Set the switch trim on a microfiber towel.
• Never pull on the wires.

Step 2: Remove the hidden door panel screws

• Use a Phillips #2 screwdriver to remove the screw inside the armrest/switch opening.
• Use a plastic trim removal tool to open the small cover behind the inside door handle if equipped.
• Use a Phillips #2 screwdriver to remove the screw behind the inside door handle cover.
• Place the screws somewhere safe so they do not roll away.

Step 3: Release the front door trim panel

• Use a plastic trim removal tool at the lower rear corner of the door panel.
• Pop the door panel clips loose one at a time around the bottom and sides.
• Use panel clip removal pliers if any clip stays stuck in the metal door.
• Lift the door panel straight upward to unhook it from the window ledge.
• Do not pull the panel away quickly because cables and connectors are still attached.

Step 4: Disconnect the handle cables and remaining connectors

• Use needle-nose pliers to unclip the interior handle cable ends from the handle bracket.
• Unplug any remaining door connectors by pressing their lock tabs by hand.
• Set the door trim panel on a microfiber towel with the finished side facing up.

Step 5: Remove the mirror sail trim

• Use a plastic trim removal tool to gently pry off the triangular inner mirror trim at the front upper corner of the door.
• Pull the trim straight away from the door to release its clips.
• Set the sail trim aside where it will not get bent or scratched.

Step 6: Locate and unplug the mirror connector

• Use a shop light to find the side mirror wiring connector inside the upper front part of the door.
• Press the connector lock tab by hand and unplug the mirror connector.
• If your Accord has blind-spot monitoring, the connector may have extra wires. Release it gently and do not pry on the sensor wiring.
• Free the mirror harness from any small plastic retainers using needle-nose pliers.

Step 7: Remove the old side mirror

• Place a microfiber towel under the outside mirror area to protect the paint.
• Use a 10mm socket, ratchet handle, and 6-inch extension to loosen the three mirror mounting nuts inside the door.
• Support the mirror with one hand while removing the final nut with the 10mm socket.
• Guide the mirror wiring out through the door opening.
• Remove the old mirror from the outside of the door.

Step 8: Install the new side mirror

• Feed the new mirror wiring through the door opening by hand.
• Place the new mirror against the outside of the door and make sure the gasket sits flat.
• Start the three mirror mounting nuts by hand first to avoid cross-threading.
• Use a 10mm socket and ratchet handle to snug the nuts evenly.
• Use a 1/4-inch drive torque wrench with a 10mm socket to tighten the mirror mounting nuts to 8 Nm (71 in-lbs).
• Do not overtighten mirror studs.

Step 9: Reconnect the mirror wiring

• Plug the mirror connector in by hand until it clicks.
• Use needle-nose pliers to reinstall the wiring retainers in their original locations.
• Make sure the harness does not interfere with the window glass or regulator.

Step 10: Test the mirror before reinstalling the door panel

• Reconnect the negative battery cable using a 10mm socket.
• Temporarily plug in the window switch panel by hand.
• Turn ignition power ON.
• Use the mirror adjustment switch to move the mirror glass up, down, left, and right.
• If equipped, confirm the mirror turn signal, heater, and blind-spot indicator operate correctly.
• Turn ignition power OFF before continuing.

Step 11: Reinstall the mirror sail trim

• Line up the triangular mirror sail trim clips by hand.
• Press the trim straight into place until the clips snap in.
• Check that the trim sits flush along the door frame.

Step 12: Reinstall the front door trim panel

• Reconnect the interior handle cables by hand and confirm the handle moves normally.
• Reconnect all door electrical connectors by hand until each clicks.
• Hang the top of the door panel over the window ledge.
• Line up the plastic clips and press around the door panel edges with your palm.
• Use a Phillips #2 screwdriver to reinstall the door panel screws. Tighten snug only.
• Snap the power window switch trim back into the armrest by hand.

Step 13: Final door and mirror check

• Use the mirror switch to confirm full mirror movement again.
• Use the power window switch to raise and lower the window fully.
• Check that the window does not contact the mirror wiring inside the door.
• Check the door lock, inside handle, outside handle, speaker, and memory/mirror functions if equipped.

• ✅ If the battery was disconnected, reset the clock and one-touch window functions if needed.
• ✅ To reset one-touch windows, run the window fully down, hold the switch DOWN for 2 seconds, then run it fully up and hold UP for 2 seconds.
