• 📋 Open the hood and switch off all electrical accessories.
• 📋 Use a 10mm socket to disconnect the negative battery terminal. Isolate the cable so it cannot touch the battery post.
• 📋 Wait at least 90 seconds before working around the doors.
• 📋 Place masking tape along the upper painted edge of the door to prevent scratches.
• 📋 A trim clip is a reusable plastic fastener that holds the door panel to the metal door shell.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Remove the mirror corner trim

• Use a plastic interior trim-removal tool to pry the triangular interior trim panel away from the upper front corner of the door.
• Pull the panel straight inward to release its clips. Do not twist it against the window glass.
• Place the trim panel on a clean microfiber towel.

Step 2: Remove the interior handle screw

• Use a small plastic pick to open the small cover behind the interior door-release handle.
• Use a Phillips No. 2 screwdriver to remove the exposed screw.
• Place the screw in a magnetic parts tray.

Step 3: Remove the armrest and switch-panel fasteners

• Use a plastic interior trim-removal tool to lift the armrest trim and power-window switch panel from the rear edge.
• Press the electrical connector locks and unplug the switch panel by hand. Pull on the connector body, not the wires.
• Use a Phillips No. 2 screwdriver to remove the screws exposed beneath the trim and switch panel.
• Keep the screws organized so each one returns to its original position.

Step 4: Release the door panel

• Insert a plastic interior trim-removal tool between the lower door panel and metal door shell.
• Use plastic door-panel clip pliers to release the clips around the bottom and both sides.
• Lift the entire panel straight upward to unhook it from the window ledge.
• Start at the bottom rear corner.

Step 5: Disconnect the door-panel attachments

• Support the panel while disconnecting the courtesy-light and remaining switch connectors by hand.
• Release the interior-handle cables from their retainers by hand. Note their positions before removal.
• Set the panel upright on a clean microfiber towel.
• Do not disconnect or disturb any yellow airbag connector inside the door.

Step 6: Disconnect the mirror wiring

• Locate the mirror electrical connector near the upper front corner of the door.
• Press its locking tab and unplug it by hand.
• Release the mirror harness from its plastic retainers by hand so it can pass through the door opening.
• Use a small plastic pick only if a connector lock will not release easily.

Step 7: Remove the original mirror

• Hold the outside mirror firmly with one hand.
• Use a 10mm socket, 6-inch extension, and 1/4-inch drive ratchet to remove the three mirror mounting nuts.
• Keep each nut away from the open door cavity so it cannot fall inside.
• Guide the connector and wiring through the opening, then lift the mirror away from the door.

Step 8: Inspect the mounting surface

• Use a clean microfiber towel to remove dirt from the mirror mounting surface.
• Confirm that the foam seal is present and undamaged. Install a new mirror mounting foam seal if the original is torn, flattened, or missing.
• Do not apply silicone sealant unless the replacement mirror manufacturer specifically requires it.

Step 9: Install the replacement mirror

• Feed the replacement mirror connector and wiring through the door opening by hand.
• Seat the mirror and foam seal evenly against the outside of the door.
• Start all three mounting nuts by hand to prevent crossed threads.
• Use a 10mm socket and low-range torque wrench to tighten the mounting nuts evenly to Torque to 8 Nm (71 in-lbs).
• Do not overtighten the nuts; excessive force can crack the mirror base.

Step 10: Connect and test the mirror

• Secure the mirror harness in its original retainers by hand.
• Push the electrical connector together until its lock clicks.
• Temporarily reconnect the window-switch connector by hand.
• Use a 10mm socket to reconnect the negative battery terminal, then switch the ignition to ON.
• Operate the mirror adjustment switch in all four directions. Test mirror heating with the rear-window defogger if the original mirror was heated.
• Switch the ignition off. Use a 10mm socket to disconnect the negative battery cable again before reinstalling the panel.

Step 11: Reinstall the door panel

• Reconnect the interior-handle cables in their original positions by hand.
• Reconnect the courtesy-light and door-panel electrical connectors by hand until their locks click.
• Lower the top edge of the panel over the window ledge, ensuring it sits evenly.
• Align each trim clip with its hole and press around the panel perimeter using your palms.
• Replace any trim clip that is bent, broken, or remains stuck in the metal door shell.

Step 12: Reinstall the screws and trim

• Use a Phillips No. 2 screwdriver to reinstall the armrest and switch-panel screws until snug. These are trim screws; do not overtighten them.
• Reconnect the power-window switch panel by hand and press the panel into place.
• Use a Phillips No. 2 screwdriver to reinstall the interior-handle screw, then close its cover by hand.
• Align the triangular mirror corner trim and press it straight into place by hand.
• Repeat Steps 1-12 on the opposite front door.

Step 13: Reconnect the battery

• After both doors are fully assembled, place the negative battery terminal onto its post.
• Use a 10mm socket and low-range torque wrench to tighten the terminal nut to Torque to 5.4 Nm (48 in-lbs).
• Confirm that the terminal cannot rotate by hand.

• ✅ Switch the ignition on and verify that both mirrors move up, down, left, and right.
• ✅ Turn on the rear-window defogger and verify that heated mirror glass begins warming, if equipped.
• ✅ Test both front power windows, door locks, speakers, courtesy lights, and interior door handles.
• ✅ If automatic window operation was lost, fully close the affected window and hold its switch upward for approximately one second. Fully lower it and hold the switch downward for approximately one second, then retest automatic operation.
