📋 Before You Begin

• Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
• Put the transmission in Park.
• Turn off all lighting switches.
• If the bulb on one side failed, consider replacing both rear turn signal bulbs at the same time.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open the tailgate

• Lower the tailgate fully to access the rear lamp mounting screws.

Step 2: Remove the tail lamp screws

• Use a 7mm socket and ratchet to remove the tail lamp mounting screws.
• Keep the screws in a safe place.

Step 3: Release the tail lamp assembly

• Pull the tail lamp straight back to release the locating pins.
• Use a trim removal tool only if the lamp is stuck. Do not pry hard against the painted body.
• Pull straight, not sideways.

Step 4: Disconnect the lamp connector

• Press the connector tab and unplug the wiring from the lamp assembly.

Step 5: Remove the bulb socket

• Rotate the rear turn signal bulb socket counterclockwise by hand and pull it out of the lamp housing.

Step 6: Replace the bulb

• Remove the old bulb from the socket.
• Install the new rear turn signal bulb into the socket.
• Do not touch the glass part of the bulb with bare fingers. Oil shortens bulb life.

Step 7: Reinstall the socket

• Insert the bulb socket back into the tail lamp housing.
• Turn it clockwise until it locks in place.

Step 8: Reinstall the tail lamp assembly

• Reconnect the electrical connector.
• Align the locating pins and press the lamp into place.
• Use the 7mm socket and ratchet to reinstall the mounting screws.
• Torque to 2.8 Nm (25 ft-lbs).

Step 9: Test the new bulb

• Turn on the ignition and activate the turn signal.
• Check the rear lamp operation on both sides.
• If the bulb does not light, recheck the socket seating and connector.

• Check brake lamps and tail lamps while you are there.
