📋 Before You Begin

• Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
• Put the transmission in Park.
• Turn the headlight switch off.
• Open the tailgate for better access.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Remove the tail lamp fasteners

• Open the tailgate and locate the two retaining bolts on the inside edge of the tail lamp.
• Use a 7mm socket and ratchet to remove the bolts.
• Keep the bolts in a small tray.

Step 2: Release the tail lamp assembly

• Pull the tail lamp straight rearward to release the locating pins.
• If it sticks, use a trim panel tool gently at the edge.
• Do not pry hard against the paint or lens.

Step 3: Remove the bulb socket

• Find the rear turn signal bulb socket on the back of the tail lamp housing.
• Twist the socket counterclockwise by hand and pull it out.
• Twist, then pull straight out.

Step 4: Replace the bulb

• Remove the old bulb from the socket by pressing in slightly and twisting, if needed.
• Install the new bulb into the socket fully.
• Do not touch the glass with bare fingers if the bulb has a glass envelope.

Step 5: Reinstall the socket and lamp

• Insert the socket back into the tail lamp housing.
• Twist it clockwise to lock it in place.
• Set the tail lamp back into position and reinstall the 7mm bolts.
• Torque to 2.8 Nm (25 in-lbs).

Step 6: Test the new bulb

• Turn on the left and right turn signals.
• Check hazard lights too.
• Make sure the bulb flashes normally and the lens is seated evenly.
