• Park your Expedition on level ground and turn the ignition off.
• Make sure the wiper switch is in the OFF position.
• Lift one wiper arm at a time away from the windshield.
• Place a microfiber towel on the windshield under the raised arm. This protects the glass if the arm slips.
• A wiper arm is the metal spring-loaded arm that holds the rubber blade against the windshield.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Protect the Windshield

• Use a microfiber towel and place it flat on the windshield under the wiper arm you are working on.
• Lift the driver-side wiper arm carefully until it stays raised on its own.
• Keep one hand on the arm.

Step 2: Find the Release Tab

• Look where the wiper blade connects to the wiper arm.
• Your Expedition uses a common hook-style wiper arm connection.
• The release tab is a small plastic button or latch on the blade connector that unlocks the blade from the arm.
• Use your fingers to press the release tab.

Step 3: Remove the Old Driver-Side Wiper Blade

• While holding the release tab, slide the old blade downward toward the base of the wiper arm.
• Once it clears the hook, pull the blade away from the arm.
• Use your other hand to control the metal wiper arm so it does not spring back.

Step 4: Install the New Driver-Side Wiper Blade

• Take one 22" front wiper blade and align its adapter with the hook on the wiper arm.
• Slide the blade upward into the hook until it clicks into place.
• Gently tug the blade downward by hand to confirm it is locked.
• No torque spec applies because this repair uses a snap-lock wiper connector, not bolts.

Step 5: Lower the Driver-Side Wiper Arm

• Use both hands to lower the wiper arm slowly back onto the windshield.
• Remove the microfiber towel only after the blade is resting safely on the glass.

Step 6: Replace the Passenger-Side Wiper Blade

• Use the same microfiber towel and place it under the passenger-side wiper arm.
• Lift the passenger-side wiper arm carefully.
• Press the release tab by hand.
• Slide the old blade down and off the hook.
• Install the second 22" front wiper blade by sliding it into the hook until it clicks.
• Gently tug the blade by hand to confirm it is locked.
• Lower the wiper arm slowly back onto the windshield.

Step 7: Check Blade Position

• Use your hands to make sure both blades sit flat against the windshield.
• Confirm the rubber edges are not twisted, folded, or trapped under the blade frame.
• A flat blade wipes cleanly.
