• Change one blade at a time so the other remains available as a visual reference.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Raise the Driver-Side Wiper Arm

• Use your gloved hand to lift the driver-side arm away from the windshield.
• Stop when the arm remains raised without being forced.
• Place the folded medium microfiber towel on the windshield beneath the arm.

Step 2: Rotate the Old Blade

• Use your gloved hand to rotate the blade until it sits roughly perpendicular to the arm.
• Locate the small locking tab where the blade connects to the curved end of the arm.
• The curved attachment is commonly called a J-hook because its end resembles the letter J.

Step 3: Release the Old Driver Blade

• Use your thumb to press the locking tab.
• While holding the tab, slide the blade down toward the base of the wiper arm.
• Move the blade around the J-hook and remove it completely.
• Lower the bare arm gently onto the folded towel. Never leave it standing unattended.

Step 4: Install the New 26-Inch Blade

• Use your gloved hand to align the new blade’s adapter with the open end of the J-hook.
• Feed the hook through the adapter opening.
• Slide the blade upward along the arm until the adapter clicks into place.
• Pull gently in the opposite direction to confirm the lock is engaged.
• A solid click beats finding out during a downpour.

Step 5: Lower the Driver Wiper

• Use both hands to rotate the blade until its rubber edge faces the windshield.
• Remove the folded medium microfiber towel.
• Lower the arm slowly until the blade rests against the glass.

Step 6: Replace the Passenger Blade

• Use the same procedure to remove the passenger-side blade.
• Protect the glass with the folded medium microfiber towel.
• Install the new 18-inch passenger blade and listen for the locking click.
• Pull gently on the blade to verify that it can’t slide off the arm.
• Lower the arm carefully onto the windshield.

Step 7: Check Blade Position

• Use your gloved hands to confirm both blades lie flat against the glass.
• Check that neither blade is upside down, twisted, or touching the windshield trim.
• Remove the protective covers from the blade rubber if the new blades include them.

• Apply windshield washer fluid and operate the wipers at low speed.
• Confirm both blades sweep smoothly without striking each other or the windshield trim.
• Check for streaking, skipping, chatter, or a blade lifting away from the glass.
• If a blade slides inside its connector, switch the wipers off immediately and reinstall it until the lock clicks.
• Clean the blade edges with a damp microfiber towel if light streaks remain.
