🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Protect the Windshield

• Put on the mechanic-grade nitrile gloves and ANSI Z87.1 safety glasses.
• Place the 16-inch microfiber towel on the windshield directly beneath the driver-side blade.
• The towel cushions the glass if the metal arm slips.

Step 2: Raise the Driver-Side Wiper Arm

• Using your gloved hand, lift the driver-side metal wiper arm away from the windshield.
• Raise it only until it remains upright without forcing the hinge.
• Hold the arm securely while working. Never release a bare wiper arm.

Step 3: Release the Old Driver-Side Blade

• Rotate the blade until it sits nearly perpendicular to the metal arm.
• Using your gloved thumb, press the small locking tab where the blade meets the J-hook.
• While holding the tab, slide the blade downward toward the base of the arm.
• Guide the blade around and out of the curved J-hook.
• Rest the bare arm gently on the 16-inch microfiber towel if needed.

Step 4: Install the New Driver-Side Blade

• Using your gloved hands, pass the J-hook through the large opening in the new 22-inch blade adapter.
• Pull the blade upward into the hook until the locking tab clicks.
• Gently tug the blade downward to confirm that it is locked.
• Rotate the blade until it lies flat against the arm.
• No fasteners are used, so there is no torque specification.

Step 5: Lower the Driver-Side Arm

• Use one gloved hand to support the metal arm and the other to guide the blade.
• Slowly lower the blade onto the windshield.
• Remove the 16-inch microfiber towel only after the blade is safely against the glass.

Step 6: Replace the Passenger-Side Blade

• Move the 16-inch microfiber towel beneath the passenger-side blade.
• Using your gloved hands, lift the arm, press the locking tab, and slide the old blade out of the J-hook.
• Insert the J-hook through the new 22-inch blade adapter and pull until it clicks.
• Tug gently to verify the lock, then carefully lower the arm onto the windshield.

Step 7: Check Both Installations

• Using your gloved hands, confirm both blades sit flat and face the same direction as the removed blades.
• Check that neither adapter can slide out of its J-hook.
• Remove the 16-inch microfiber towel and all packaging from the windshield area.
