🔧 Front Wiper Blades - Replacement

The front wiper blades on your Accord are simple to replace and usually take only a few minutes. New blades will restore streak-free wiping and better visibility in rain.

Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.2-0.5 hours

⚠️ Safety & Precautions

  • Turn the ignition off and keep the wiper switch in the OFF position.
  • Lift each wiper arm carefully. The arm is spring-loaded and can snap back against the glass.
  • Protect the windshield with a towel if you are worried about the bare wiper arm touching the glass.
  • No battery disconnect is required.

🔧 Required Tools

You'll need the following tools for this repair:

  • Microfiber towel
  • Safety glasses
  • Gloves

  • Front wiper blade - Passenger: 19" - Qty: 1

📋 Before You Begin

  • Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
  • Turn the wipers fully off.
  • Make sure the new blades match the correct length before starting.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Lift the wiper arm

  • Raise the driver-side wiper arm away from the windshield.
  • Repeat for the passenger-side arm.
  • Lift one arm at a time.

Step 2: Remove the old blade

  • Use your hand to find the small release tab where the blade connects to the arm.
  • Press the tab and slide the blade downward to unhook it from the arm.
  • Remove the blade carefully so the metal arm does not strike the windshield.

Step 3: Install the new driver blade

  • Use the driver-side new blade and align the connector with the wiper arm hook.
  • Slide the blade into place until it clicks and locks.
  • Gently tug the blade to make sure it is secure.

Step 4: Install the new passenger blade

  • Use the passenger-side new blade and align it with the wiper arm hook.
  • Slide it in until it clicks.
  • Check that it is fully locked before lowering the arm.

Step 5: Lower the arms and test

  • Carefully lower both wiper arms back onto the windshield.
  • Turn the ignition on and test the wipers with washer fluid.
  • Make sure both blades sweep smoothly and do not streak.

✅ After Repair

  • Spray washer fluid and confirm both sides clear the glass evenly.
  • Listen for any chatter, skipping, or clicking.
  • If a blade lifts or streaks, recheck the lock on that side.
