🔩 Required Parts
HowToo sells all the parts you need for this repair:
- Front wiper blades - Driver: 26", Passenger: 18" - Qty: 2
đź“‹ Before You Begin
- Park your Durango on level ground and switch the ignition OFF.
- Lift each wiper arm up away from the windshield until it stays up.
- Tip: Put a towel under each arm first.
- Assumption: Your Durango uses 26" (driver) and 18" (passenger) front blades; match what’s on your old blades if they differ.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Protect the windshield
- Place a microfiber towel on the windshield directly under the wiper arm.
- Lift the wiper arm up and keep it supported with one hand.
Step 2: Remove the old wiper blade (J-hook style)
- Locate where the wiper blade attaches to the arm. Most Durango front arms use a J-hook (a J-shaped metal hook that slides into the blade adapter).
- Press the small release tab on the blade adapter using your thumb. If it’s stuck, gently help it with a small flat-blade screwdriver.
- Slide the blade down toward the base of the arm to unhook it, then rotate it away and remove it from the hook.
- Tip: Don’t pry hard—tabs can snap.
Step 3: Install the new wiper blade
- Confirm you’re installing the correct length: 26" on the driver side and 18" on the passenger side.
- Align the new blade adapter opening with the J-hook on the arm.
- Slide the blade onto the hook until you hear/feel a “click” indicating the tab locked.
- Lightly tug the blade using your hand to confirm it’s fully latched.
Step 4: Lower the wiper arm safely
- Remove the microfiber towel.
- Lower the arm gently back onto the windshield.
- Repeat Steps 1–4 for the other side.
Step 5: Function test
- Start the Durango and spray washer fluid.
- Run the wipers and check for smooth, quiet wiping with no streaks.
âś… After Repair
- Verify both blades wipe cleanly across the full windshield.
- If you see chatter/skipping, clean the glass with washer fluid and wipe the blade edges with a damp towel.
- Make sure both wiper arms are fully seated down against the glass.
