🔧 Front Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement

Your Accord uses a simple hook-style wiper arm, so this is a quick swap once you have the correct blade sizes. Replacing worn blades restores streak-free wiping and helps visibility in rain.

Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.2-0.5 hours

⚠️ Safety & Precautions

  • Turn the ignition off and keep the wipers fully stopped before starting.
  • Lift one wiper arm at a time so it does not snap back onto the glass.
  • Protect the windshield with a towel if you are worried about the arm hitting the glass.
  • No battery disconnect is required for this repair.

🔧 Required Tools

You'll need the following tools for this repair:

  • Clean microfiber towel
  • Gloves
  • Safety glasses

🔩 Required Parts

HowToo sells all the parts you need for this repair:

  • Front wiper blade - Driver: 26" - Qty: 1
  • Front wiper blade - Passenger: 22" - Qty: 1

📋 Before You Begin

  • Park on level ground with the transmission in neutral and the parking brake set.
  • Make sure the wiper switch is off.
  • Lay a towel on the windshield edge if you want extra protection.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Lift the wiper arm

  • Use both hands to gently lift the driver-side wiper arm away from the windshield.
  • Do not let it snap back.

Step 2: Remove the old blade

  • Find the small release tab where the blade connects to the arm.
  • Press the tab with your fingers and slide the blade downward off the hook.
  • If it feels stuck, wiggle the blade slightly while pulling it off.

Step 3: Install the new blade

  • Align the new 26" front wiper blade with the hook on the arm.
  • Slide the hook into the adapter until it clicks into place.
  • Pull lightly on the blade to make sure it is locked.

Step 4: Repeat on the passenger side

  • Lift the passenger-side wiper arm.
  • Remove the old blade using the same release tab method.
  • Install the new 22" front wiper blade and confirm it is locked.

Step 5: Lower the arms carefully

  • Set each arm back onto the windshield slowly.
  • Guide the arm down by hand.

✅ After Repair

  • Turn the wipers on and test both blades at low speed.
  • Check that the blades sweep smoothly and do not chatter or streak.
  • Spray washer fluid and confirm both sides clear the glass properly.
