🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Move the Wipers into Service Position

• Use the ignition button or key to switch the ignition on, then switch it off.
• Within three seconds, use the wiper-control stalk and hold it in the single-wipe position.
• Release the stalk when both wipers travel upward and stop in the service position.
• If they do not move, repeat the ignition sequence and operate the stalk promptly.

Step 2: Protect the Windshield

• Put on the work gloves and safety glasses.
• Use the thick microfiber towel to cover the windshield directly beneath the first wiper arm.
• Lift only one arm at a time. The arm is spring-loaded, so keep a firm grip on it.

Step 3: Remove the First Wiper Blade

• Use your gloved hands to rotate the blade slightly away from the arm.
• Locate and press the blade connector's release button or locking tabs.
• While holding the release, slide the blade along the arm and out of its mounting slot.
• Lower the bare arm gently onto the thick microfiber towel. Never leave it standing unsupported.
• Compare connectors before installing the new blade.

Step 4: Install the New Wiper Blade

• Use your gloved hands to align the new blade connector with the end of the wiper arm.
• Slide the connector into the arm until the lock clicks into place.
• Pull gently on the blade with your gloved hands to confirm it is locked.
• No torque specification applies because the blades use locking connectors rather than threaded fasteners.
• Remove the thick microfiber towel and lower the arm gently against the windshield.

Step 5: Replace the Second Blade

• Move the thick microfiber towel beneath the second wiper arm.
• Use your gloved hands to repeat Steps 3 and 4 with the other 28-inch blade.
• Confirm that both blade spoilers and rubber wiping edges face the same way as the original blades.

Step 6: Return the Wipers to Their Parked Position

• Confirm both arms are resting fully against the windshield and remove the thick microfiber towel.
• Use the ignition button or key to switch the ignition on.
• Use the wiper-control stalk for one wipe cycle. The arms should return to their normal parked position below the hood line.
