🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Move the Wipers to the Service Position

• Switch the ignition on without starting the engine, then switch it off.
• Within three seconds, press and hold the physical wiper stalk downward in the single-wipe position.
• Release the stalk when the wipers move upward and stop in the service position.
• If they remain parked, repeat the ignition-off and stalk sequence without forcing the arms upward.

Step 2: Protect the Windshield

• Put on the nitrile work gloves and safety glasses.
• Place the 24-inch windshield protection mat beneath the driver-side wiper arm.
• Lift only the driver-side arm away from the windshield until it remains raised.
• Keep one hand on the arm whenever the blade is disconnected.

Step 3: Remove the Driver-Side Blade

• Rotate the blade slightly until its center connector is easy to reach.
• Press the release button on the blade connector firmly with your thumb.
• While holding the button, slide the blade lengthwise away from the end of the arm.
• Remove the blade without twisting the metal arm.
• Note the old blade’s installed direction.

Step 4: Install the Driver-Side Blade

• Orient the new 28-inch driver-side blade in the same direction as the original.
• Align its Ford push-button adapter with the end of the wiper arm.
• Slide the adapter into the arm by hand until the release button clicks into its opening.
• Pull gently on the blade to confirm the connector is locked.
• Remove the shipping protector from the rubber wiping edge.
• Use both hands to lower the arm slowly onto the windshield protection mat, then remove the mat.

Step 5: Replace the Passenger-Side Blade

• Move the 24-inch windshield protection mat beneath the passenger-side arm.
• Lift the passenger-side arm and rotate its blade for connector access.
• Press the release button and slide the old blade away from the arm by hand.
• Slide the new 28-inch passenger-side blade into the arm until it clicks.
• Pull gently on the blade to verify it is locked, then remove its shipping protector.
• Lower the arm slowly onto the windshield and remove the protection mat.

Step 6: Return the Wipers to Their Parked Position

• Confirm both blades are flat against the glass and nothing remains on the windshield.
• Switch the ignition on.
• Operate the physical wiper stalk for one normal wipe cycle.
• Allow both wipers to return fully to the bottom of the windshield before switching the ignition off.
