🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Protect the Windshield

• Put on the safety glasses and work gloves.
• Place the thick windshield-protection towel beneath the driver-side blade.
• The towel helps protect the glass if the spring-loaded arm slips.

Step 2: Raise the Driver-Side Wiper Arm

• Use your gloved hand to lift the driver-side arm away from the windshield until it remains raised.
• Hold the arm securely while working. Do not bend or twist it.
• Replace one blade at a time.

Step 3: Release the Old Driver-Side Blade

• Rotate the blade so it sits nearly perpendicular to the arm.
• Locate the small plastic release tab where the blade meets the curved J-shaped end of the arm. A J-hook is the curved attachment at the end of the metal arm.
• Use your gloved thumb to press the release tab.
• While holding the tab, slide the blade downward toward the base of the arm.
• Guide the blade around and out of the J-hook.

Step 4: Install the New Driver-Side Blade

• Remove the protective packaging from one 22-inch front windshield wiper blade.
• If the blade includes several adapters, use the included J-hook adapter. Do not force an incorrect adapter onto the arm.
• Use your gloved hands to pass the J-hook through the large opening in the blade adapter.
• Slide the blade upward into the hook until the locking tab makes an audible click.
• Pull gently on the blade to confirm that it is locked.

Step 5: Lower the Driver-Side Wiper Arm

• Rotate the blade until its rubber edge faces the windshield.
• Use both gloved hands to lower the arm slowly onto the glass.
• Do not release the arm until the blade is resting against the windshield.

Step 6: Replace the Passenger-Side Blade

• Move the thick windshield-protection towel beneath the passenger-side blade.
• Use your gloved hand to raise the passenger-side arm.
• Press the adapter release tab and slide the old blade downward and out of the J-hook.
• Install the second 22-inch front windshield wiper blade and slide it into the hook until it clicks.
• Pull gently to verify that the blade is secure, then lower the arm carefully.

Step 7: Check the Installation

• Use your gloved hands to confirm both blades sit flat against the windshield.
• Check that neither adapter is loose and that each rubber wiping edge faces the glass.
• Remove the thick windshield-protection towel before testing the wipers.
