🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open the Hood

• Use your hand to pull the hood release inside the cabin.
• Use your hand to release the secondary hood latch at the front of the hood.
• Raise the hood and support it securely.
• Use a flashlight to look behind the headlamp assembly on the side you are replacing.

Step 2: Create Working Room

• Use the flashlight to locate the rear of the front turn signal bulb socket behind the headlamp.
• If the upper air duct or plastic cover blocks access, use the trim clip removal tool to lift any plastic push clips gently.
• If a small retaining bolt blocks the cover or duct, use a 10mm socket and 1/4-inch ratchet to remove it.
• Set clips and bolts aside in a safe place.
• Take a photo before removing parts.

Step 3: Remove the Turn Signal Bulb Socket

• Use your gloved hand to grasp the front turn signal bulb socket behind the headlamp.
• Turn the socket counterclockwise about a quarter turn.
• Pull the socket straight rearward out of the headlamp housing.
• Do not pull on the wires.

Step 4: Remove the Old Bulb

• Use your gloved hand to pull the old bulb straight out of the socket.
• If the bulb is stuck, gently wiggle it while pulling straight out.
• Inspect the socket for melting, corrosion, or loose contacts.
• If the socket is burned or melted, the socket should be replaced before installing the new bulb.

Step 5: Install the New Bulb

• Use nitrile gloves to handle the new front turn signal bulb.
• Push the new bulb straight into the socket until it seats fully.
• Make sure the bulb sits squarely and does not wobble.
• Do not touch the glass bare-handed.

Step 6: Reinstall the Bulb Socket

• Use the flashlight to align the tabs on the socket with the openings in the headlamp housing.
• Push the socket straight into the headlamp housing.
• Turn the socket clockwise until it locks.
• Do not overtighten by hand. It only needs to lock firmly.

Step 7: Reinstall Any Removed Covers or Ducts

• Use your hand to position any removed plastic cover or air duct back into place.
• Use the trim clip removal tool only as needed to align push clips.
• Push plastic clips back in by hand until seated.
• If you removed a 10mm bolt, reinstall it with the 10mm socket and 1/4-inch ratchet.
• Torque small 10mm cover bolts to 5-7 Nm (44-62 in-lbs) if applicable.

Step 8: Test the Turn Signal

• Use your hand to turn the ignition to ON without starting the engine.
• Use the turn signal stalk to switch on the repaired side.
• Walk to the front and confirm the bulb flashes normally.
• Turn on the hazard lights and confirm both front turn signal bulbs flash.
• If the bulb flashes fast or does not light, turn the vehicle off and recheck that the bulb is fully seated.
