📋 Before You Begin

• 🅿️ Park your Tacoma on level ground and shift to Park.
• 🔑 Turn the ignition off and remove the key.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open the Hood

• Pull the hood release inside the cab.
• Lift the hood and secure it with the hood prop rod.
• Use a flashlight to look behind the front headlight assembly.

Step 2: Find the Front Turn Signal Socket

• Stand at the front corner of your Tacoma and look behind the headlight assembly.
• The front turn signal socket is the amber bulb socket near the outer/front corner of the headlight housing.
• Use a flashlight to confirm you are on the turn signal socket, not the headlight bulb.
• Tip: Follow the amber lens area.

Step 3: Remove the Turn Signal Socket

• Grip the bulb socket by hand.
• Turn the socket counterclockwise about a quarter turn.
• Pull the socket straight out of the headlight housing.
• If a nearby harness clip blocks your hand, use a plastic trim tool gently to move the clip aside.

Step 4: Remove the Old Bulb

• Hold the socket firmly by hand.
• Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket.
• If it is tight, wiggle it gently while pulling.
• Do not crush the bulb glass.

Step 5: Install the New Bulb

• Put on clean nitrile gloves before handling the new bulb.
• Push the new front turn signal bulb straight into the socket until it seats fully.
• Make sure the bulb is straight and secure.
• Tip: Do not touch bulb glass.

Step 6: Reinstall the Socket

• Insert the socket back into the headlight housing.
• Turn the socket clockwise by hand until it locks in place.
• Make sure it sits flush against the housing to keep water and dust out.

Step 7: Repeat on the Other Side

• Move to the opposite front corner of your Tacoma.
• Use the flashlight to locate the other front turn signal socket.
• Remove the socket by hand, replace the bulb, and lock the socket back in place.
• No torque spec applies because the bulb sockets are hand-twist only.

Step 8: Close the Hood

• Remove any tools from the engine bay.
• Release the hood prop rod and secure it back in its clip.
• Lower the hood and close it firmly.

• ✅ Turn the ignition to ON without starting the engine.
• ✅ Switch on the left turn signal and confirm the left front bulb flashes normally.
• ✅ Switch on the right turn signal and confirm the right front bulb flashes normally.
• ✅ Turn on the hazard lights and confirm both front turn signal bulbs flash.
• ✅ If one side flashes very fast, the bulb may not be seated correctly or the wrong bulb type may be installed.
• ✅ No scan tool, programming, or infotainment reset is needed.
