🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open the Hood

• Use your hand to pull the hood release inside the cabin.
• Use your fingers to release the safety latch at the front of the hood.
• Raise the hood fully and make sure it is securely supported.

Step 2: Locate the Front Turn Signal Bulb Socket

• Use a flashlight to look behind the front headlamp assembly on the side you are replacing.
• The front turn signal bulb socket is usually the larger twist-lock socket near the outer/lower area of the headlamp housing.
• Match the new bulb before removal.

Step 3: Improve Access if Needed

• Use a flat-blade trim clip remover to gently lift any plastic splash shield clips blocking access behind the headlamp.
• If a small fastener is blocking access, use a Phillips #2 screwdriver or 10mm socket with a 1/4-inch ratchet to remove it.
• Place any clips or fasteners on a shop towel so they do not roll away.

Step 4: Remove the Bulb Socket

• Use your gloved hand to grip the turn signal bulb socket.
• Turn the socket counterclockwise about a quarter-turn.
• Pull the socket straight out of the headlamp housing.
• Do not pull on the wiring harness.

Step 5: Remove the Old Bulb

• Use your gloved fingers to pull the old bulb straight out of the socket.
• If it is stuck, gently wiggle it side to side while pulling.
• Check the socket for melting, corrosion, or loose terminals.

Step 6: Install the New Bulb

• Use nitrile gloves or a clean shop towel to hold the new amber bulb.
• Push the new bulb straight into the socket until it seats fully.
• A seated bulb should feel firm and not wobble.

Step 7: Test the Bulb Before Reassembly

• Use your hand to turn the ignition to ON without starting the engine.
• Move the turn signal stalk to the side you are repairing.
• Confirm the new front turn signal flashes normally.
• Turn the ignition and lights back OFF before continuing.

Step 8: Reinstall the Bulb Socket

• Use your gloved hand to insert the socket back into the headlamp housing.
• Align the locking tabs with the slots in the housing.
• Turn the socket clockwise until it locks in place.
• Do not force it; it should twist smoothly when aligned correctly.

Step 9: Reinstall Any Removed Shields or Fasteners

• Use the flat-blade trim clip remover to position any plastic push clips back into place.
• Press the center of each clip down until it sits flush.
• Use a Phillips #2 screwdriver or 10mm socket with a 1/4-inch ratchet to reinstall any fasteners removed earlier.
• Snug plastic fasteners gently by hand; do not overtighten.

Step 10: Repeat on the Other Side if Replacing in Pairs

• Use the same tools and steps on the opposite front turn signal bulb.
• Replacing both bulbs together helps keep brightness and color even.
