🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open the Hood

• Use your hand to pull the hood release inside the cabin.
• Use your hand to release the hood safety latch at the front of the hood.
• Raise the hood and secure it with the hood prop rod if equipped.
• Use the flashlight to look behind the headlight assembly on the side with the failed bulb.

Step 2: Locate the Front Turn Signal Socket

• Use the flashlight to inspect the rear of the headlight assembly.
• The front turn signal bulb socket is located on the outer area of the headlight assembly, near the amber turn signal section.
• Look for the socket that lines up with the amber lens area at the front corner of the vehicle.
• Match the socket to the lens.

Step 3: Remove the Bulb Socket

• Use your hand to grip the turn signal bulb socket.
• Turn the socket counterclockwise about a quarter turn.
• Pull the socket straight back out of the headlight assembly.
• No torque spec applies because this socket is hand-tight only.

Step 4: Remove the Old Bulb

• Put on nitrile gloves before handling the bulb.
• Use your hand to pull the old front turn signal bulb straight out of the socket.
• If the bulb feels stuck, gently wiggle it side to side while pulling straight out.
• Do not squeeze the glass hard.

Step 5: Install the New Bulb

• Use nitrile gloves or a clean microfiber towel to handle the new bulb.
• Push the new front turn signal bulb straight into the socket until fully seated.
• Make sure the bulb sits straight and does not wobble.
• Fully seated bulbs prevent flicker.

Step 6: Test Before Reinstalling the Socket

• Use your hand to hold the socket safely away from moving parts.
• Turn the ignition to accessory mode if needed.
• Use the turn signal stalk or hazard button to activate the turn signal.
• Confirm the new bulb flashes normally.
• Turn the ignition and lights back off after testing.

Step 7: Reinstall the Socket

• Use your hand to insert the bulb socket back into the headlight assembly.
• Turn the socket clockwise about a quarter turn until it locks in place.
• Do not overtighten the socket.
• No torque spec applies because this socket is hand-tight only.

Step 8: Close the Hood

• Use your hand to remove the hood prop rod if equipped and return it to its clip.
• Lower the hood carefully.
• Press the hood closed until it latches securely.
• Use your hand to gently lift the front edge of the hood to confirm it is latched.
