📋 Before You Begin

• Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
• Shift into Park and turn the ignition off.
• Open the tailgate for easier access to the taillight fasteners.
• Have both replacement bulbs ready before removing the lamp.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open the tailgate

• Lower the tailgate fully so you can reach the taillight mounting screws.
• Keep the lamp steady as you work.

Step 2: Remove the taillight retaining screws

• Use a 7mm socket with a 1/4-inch ratchet and short extension to remove the taillight screws.
• Set the screws aside in a safe place.

Step 3: Remove the taillight housing

• Pull the taillight straight rearward to release the locating pins.
• If it sticks, use a trim panel tool gently at the edge.
• Do not pry hard against the painted body panel.

Step 4: Remove the bulb sockets

• Twist each bulb socket counterclockwise by hand and pull it out of the housing.
• One socket is for the stop/turn bulb and one is for the tail/running bulb.

Step 5: Replace both bulbs

• Remove each bulb from its socket.
• Install the new bulbs into the sockets with clean gloves on.
• Make sure each bulb is seated fully and straight.

Step 6: Reinstall the sockets

• Align each socket with the housing opening and twist clockwise to lock it in place.
• Make sure the sockets are fully seated so moisture cannot enter.

Step 7: Reinstall the taillight housing

• Line up the locating pins with the body openings.
• Push the housing straight in until it sits flush.
• Reinstall the screws with the 7mm socket and snug them down.
• Torque to 3.4 Nm (30 in-lbs).

Step 8: Test the lights

• Turn on the parking lights and press the brake pedal.
• Check both rear bulbs for proper operation.
• Have a helper confirm the brake, tail, and turn functions work on both sides.
