🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Locate the Low-Beam Access Covers

• Use the LED work light to look behind each headlight assembly.
• Identify the round low-beam dust cover on the rear of the housing.
• Confirm you are working behind the low-beam projector, not the separate high-beam reflector.

Step 2: Remove the Driver-Side Dust Cover

• Grip the round cover by hand and rotate it counterclockwise.
• Pull the cover straight away from the headlight housing.
• If it is difficult to grip, gently assist the edge with the plastic trim tool.
• Do not pry hard because the cover and housing are plastic.

Step 3: Remove the Driver-Side Bulb

• Use the LED work light to identify the electrical connector and bulb base.
• Press the connector release tab and pull the connector straight off the bulb base.
• Grip the bulb's plastic base and rotate it counterclockwise approximately one-quarter turn.
• Pull the bulb straight out without striking the glass against the housing.

Step 4: Install the New Driver-Side Bulb

• Put on clean nitrile gloves before handling the new bulb.
• Align the locating tabs on the new H11 bulb with the openings in the housing.
• Insert the bulb fully and rotate it clockwise until it locks firmly.
• Push the electrical connector onto the bulb until its retaining tab clicks.
• No bolt torque specification applies because the bulb uses a twist-lock mount.
• Never force mismatched locating tabs.

Step 5: Refit the Driver-Side Dust Cover

• Inspect the cover seal using the LED work light.
• Remove any dirt that could prevent the seal from seating.
• Fit the cover squarely and rotate it clockwise until fully locked.
• A loose cover lets moisture and dust into the headlight housing.

Step 6: Replace the Passenger-Side Bulb

• Repeat Steps 2 through 5 behind the passenger-side headlight.
• Work slowly around nearby hoses and wiring. Do not pull or sharply bend them for extra space.
• Use the LED work light to verify that the bulb sits flat and the connector is fully latched.

Step 7: Check Both Installations

• Use the LED work light to confirm both dust covers are completely seated.
• Check that no wiring is trapped between a cover and its housing.
• Make sure no tools or packaging remain in the engine compartment.
