- Open the hood and locate the battery on the right side of the engine bay.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Remove the negative cable
- Use a 10mm wrench to loosen the negative battery terminal clamp.
- Lift the negative cable off the battery post and move it aside.
- Do not let the cable spring back.
Step 2: Remove the positive cable
- Use a 10mm wrench to loosen the positive terminal clamp.
- Lift the positive cable off the battery post and secure it away from metal.
Step 3: Remove the battery hold-down
- Use a 10mm socket and ratchet to remove the battery hold-down bolt.
- Remove the hold-down bracket and set it aside.
Step 4: Lift out the old battery
- Lift the battery straight up and out of the tray.
- A battery is heavy, so use both hands.
- Keep the battery upright.
Step 5: Clean the tray and terminals
- Use a battery terminal cleaning brush to clean corrosion from the cable ends.
- Wipe the battery tray clean before installing the new battery.
Step 6: Install the new battery
- Place the new battery in the tray with the terminals in the same position as the old battery.
- Reinstall the hold-down bracket using the 10mm socket.
- Torque to 7 Nm (62 in-lbs).
Step 7: Connect the positive cable
- Use a 10mm wrench to tighten the positive terminal clamp.
- Torque to 5 Nm (44 in-lbs).
Step 8: Connect the negative cable
- Use a 10mm wrench to tighten the negative terminal clamp.
- Torque to 5 Nm (44 in-lbs).
Step 9: Apply terminal protection
- Apply battery terminal protectant spray to the terminals if desired.
- Close the hood.

- Start the engine and confirm it cranks normally.
- Check that the dash warning lights go out after startup.
- Reset the clock and radio presets if needed.
- Check the battery terminals again after a short drive to make sure they are tight.
