🔧 Focus - Manual Transmission Fluid Change
This service drains and refills the manual transmission fluid in your Focus. Fresh fluid helps protect the gears, bearings, and synchronizers, which are the parts that help the transmission shift smoothly.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate | Estimated Time: 1-2 hours
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- ⚠️ Support your Focus securely on jack stands before going underneath it. Never rely on a jack alone.
- ⚠️ Transmission fluid may be hot after driving. Let the vehicle cool before removing plugs.
- ⚠️ Keep the vehicle level during filling. Fluid level is checked at the fill opening.
- ⚠️ Always remove the fill plug before the drain plug. This prevents draining the transmission and then discovering it cannot be refilled.
- ⚠️ Battery disconnect is not required for this service.
