- Use a 10mm wrench to loosen the positive terminal clamp.
- Lift the positive cable off the battery post and move it aside.
Step 3: Remove the battery hold-down
- Use a 10mm socket and ratchet to remove the battery hold-down bracket.
- Keep the bolts in a safe place.
Step 4: Lift out the old battery
- Use a battery strap or battery lift handle to lift the battery straight up and out.
- Battery is heavy, so lift carefully with both hands.
Step 5: Clean the tray and terminals
- Use a battery terminal brush to clean corrosion from the cable ends and battery tray.
- Wipe away loose debris before installing the new battery.
- Clean connections help prevent starting problems.
Step 6: Install the new battery
- Set the new battery in the tray with the terminals in the same position as the original.
- Reinstall the hold-down bracket using a 10mm socket and ratchet.
- Torque to snug fit only; do not overtighten.
Step 7: Connect the positive cable
- Install the positive cable first using a 10mm wrench.
- Tighten the clamp until it is secure.
Step 8: Connect the negative cable
- Install the negative cable last using a 10mm wrench.
- Tighten the clamp until it is secure.

- Spray battery terminal protectant on both terminals and cable ends.
- Install anti-corrosion washers if used.
