🔧 Crosstour - Front Wiper Blade Replacement
Replacing the front wiper blades restores clear vision in rain and prevents the rubber from streaking or chattering. On your Crosstour, the blades clip onto the wiper arms and can be swapped in a few minutes.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.2-0.4 hours
Assumption: Your Crosstour uses a standard J-hook style wiper arm.
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- ⚠️ Don’t let the wiper arm snap onto the windshield; it can crack the glass.
- ⚠️ Keep fingers clear of the spring-loaded hinge while releasing the blade.
- ⚠️ Use a towel on the windshield as a cushion while blades are off.
- ⚠️ Battery disconnect is not required.

📋 Before You Begin
- Park on level ground, shift to Park, and switch the ignition OFF.
- Place a microfiber towel on the lower windshield area where the wiper arms might touch.
- If your wipers sit low and you want more room, use one of these service-position methods:
- ✅ Method A (common Honda): Turn ignition ON, then OFF, then within 30 seconds hold the wiper stalk to MIST for ~2 seconds to move wipers up.
- ✅ Method B (simple): Carefully lift each wiper arm away from the glass and support it.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Lift and protect the wiper arm
- Use a step stool if needed so you’re not stretching.
- Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield until it holds itself up.
- Keep the microfiber towel on the glass underneath as a safety cushion.
Step 2: Remove the old wiper blade
- Rotate the blade so it’s roughly perpendicular (90°) to the wiper arm.
- Find the small release tab where the blade connects to the arm.
- Press the tab with your thumb; if it’s stubborn, gently help it with a small flathead screwdriver.
- Slide the blade down and off the J-hook.
- Hold the arm so it can’t snap back.
Step 3: Install the new wiper blade
- Confirm you have the correct blade for each side (26" driver, 18" passenger).
- Slide the new blade’s connector onto the J-hook until it seats fully.
- Pull lightly on the blade to confirm it’s locked in place (you should feel/hear a click).
Step 4: Set the arm back onto the windshield
- Lower the wiper arm back down gently onto the windshield.
- Remove the microfiber towel.
Step 5: Repeat for the other side
- Repeat Steps 1–4 for the other front wiper blade.
✅ After Repair
- Turn ignition ON and run the washers for 1–2 wipes to confirm smooth, quiet operation.
- Check that each blade sits evenly on the glass and doesn’t lift at the ends.
- If you used service position, cycle the wipers once to return them to normal park position.
