🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Remove the inner mirror cover
- Use the plastic trim tool to gently pry off the triangular sail panel at the upper front corner of the door.
- If equipped with a retaining screw, remove it with the Phillips screwdriver.
- Set the cover aside where it will not get scratched.
Step 2: Disconnect the mirror wiring
- Locate the mirror connector behind the sail panel.
- Press the lock tab and unplug the connector by hand.
- Do not pull on the wires.
Step 3: Remove the mirror mounting nuts
- Use the 10mm socket, ratchet, and short extension to remove the three mirror nuts from inside the door.
- Support the mirror with one hand while removing the last nut.
- Remove the mirror assembly from the outside of the door.
Step 4: Install the new mirror
- Position the new mirror on the outside of the door.
- Reconnect the wiring harness if equipped with power adjustment or heating.
- Start all three nuts by hand first.
- Use the 10mm socket and ratchet to tighten the nuts evenly.
- Torque to 7 Nm (62 in-lbs).
Step 5: Reinstall the interior cover
- Snap the sail panel back into place by hand.
- Reinstall any screw with the Phillips screwdriver.
- Make sure the panel sits flush with the door trim.
Step 6: Test the mirror
- Turn the ignition on and check mirror adjustment, heating, and folding if equipped.
- Make sure the mirror is stable and does not rattle.
