🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Remove the door sail trim

• Use a flat plastic pry tool to gently pop off the triangular sail trim at the front upper corner of the door panel.
• Set the trim aside carefully. Work slowly to avoid breaking clips.

Step 2: Remove the mirror fasteners

• Use a 10mm socket, ratchet, and short extension to remove the 3 mirror mounting nuts.
• Support the mirror from outside the door while removing the last nut.
• Torque on installation: 8 Nm (71 ft-lbs)

Step 3: Disconnect the mirror wiring

• Reach behind the opening and unplug the mirror connector(s) using your fingers or a pick tool only if a lock tab is tight.
• If the connector has a lock, release it before pulling the plug apart.

Step 4: Remove the old mirror

• Lift the mirror assembly away from the door.
• Inspect the mounting surface and clean off any dirt or old foam.

Step 5: Install the new mirror

• Position the new mirror on the door and route the wiring through the opening.
• Plug in all connectors until they click fully into place.
• Start the 3 mounting nuts by hand first, then snug them evenly with the 10mm socket.
• Torque to 8 Nm (71 ft-lbs)

Step 6: Reinstall the sail trim

• Align the trim and press it into place by hand.
• Make sure all clips are seated fully with no gaps.

Step 7: Reconnect power and test

• Reconnect the negative battery cable using a 10mm socket.
• Test mirror adjustment, heating, turn signal, puddle lamp, and folding function if equipped.
• Check that the mirror does not vibrate or move when touched.
