🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Remove the interior sail panel trim

• Use a plastic trim removal tool set to gently pry off the small triangular trim panel at the top front corner of the door (inside).
• If there’s a small clip retainer you can see, use a small pick tool to help release it without snapping it. (A pick tool is a small hooked tool used to lift clips.)

Step 2: Unplug the mirror electrical connector (if equipped)

• Locate the mirror wiring connector behind the sail panel.
• Press the lock tab and unplug it by hand; if it’s stubborn, use a small pick tool to lift the tab gently (don’t force it).

Step 3: Remove the mirror mounting nuts

• Support the mirror from the outside with one hand.
• Use a 10mm socket, 1/4" drive ratchet, and 6" extension (1/4" drive) to remove the three mounting nuts.
• If you drop a nut inside the door area, use a magnetic pickup tool to retrieve it.

Step 4: Remove the mirror from the door

• Carefully pull the mirror away from the door while guiding the wiring and grommet (rubber pass-through) out of the opening.
• Set the old mirror aside and inspect the door mounting surface for dirt or damaged foam seal.

Step 5: Install the new mirror

• Guide the wiring connector and grommet through the door opening and seat the grommet fully by hand.
• Position the mirror flush against the door and start all three nuts by hand to avoid cross-threading.
• Use a 10mm socket and 1/4" drive ratchet to snug the nuts evenly.
• Use a torque wrench (in-lb or Nm capable) to finish tightening: Torque to 8-10 Nm (71-89 in-lbs).

Step 6: Reconnect wiring and reinstall trim

• Plug the connector back in until it clicks (if equipped).
• Align the sail panel clips and press it back into place by hand.
• If you disconnected the battery, reconnect it using a 10mm socket.

Step 7 (Only if you cannot reach the connector/nuts): Remove the door panel

• Use a Phillips #2 screwdriver and plastic trim removal tool set to remove visible screws and pop the door panel clips free around the edges.
• Lift the door panel upward to unhook it, then proceed with Steps 2-6.
