🔧 Rear Window Regulator - Replacement
The rear window regulator moves the glass up and down inside the rear door. On your Silverado, the door panel must come off, the glass must be supported, and the regulator/motor assembly is removed from inside the door. If the window is slow, crooked, or stuck, replacing the regulator usually fixes it.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate | Estimated Time: 1.5-3 hours
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- Keep hands clear of the regulator tracks; they can pinch hard.
- Support the glass before loosening the regulator.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable if you will unplug the window switch or door wiring.
- Use tape to hold the glass in place while the regulator is out.
- Be careful with the moisture barrier so it can be reused.
