🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the tailgate and locate the tail lamp fasteners
- Open the tailgate on the side you are replacing.
- Look at the inside edge of the tail lamp housing.
- Use an 8mm socket and ratchet to remove the tail lamp screws.
Step 2: Remove the tail lamp assembly
- Pull the tail lamp straight back to release the locating pins.
- If it sticks, use a trim removal tool to gently help at the edge.
- Pull straight back, not sideways.
Step 3: Remove the bulb socket
- Find the rear turn signal bulb socket on the back of the lamp housing.
- Rotate the socket counterclockwise by hand and pull it out.
- Remove the old bulb from the socket by pulling it straight out.
Step 4: Install the new bulb
- Install the new rear turn signal bulb into the socket.
- Make sure it sits fully in place.
- Reinsert the socket into the lamp housing and turn it clockwise to lock it.
Step 5: Reinstall the tail lamp assembly
- Line up the locating pins with the body openings.
- Push the lamp straight into place.
- Reinstall the screws with the 8mm socket and ratchet.
- Torque to 3-4 Nm (27-35 in-lbs).
Step 6: Test the new bulb
- Turn the ignition on.
- Activate the turn signal on the repaired side.
- Confirm the front, rear, and dash indicators flash normally.

- Test the brake light, running light, reverse light, and turn signal while you are there.
