- Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
- Shift into Park and make sure all lights are off.
- Open the tailgate for better access to the rear lamp.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Remove the tail lamp retaining fasteners
- Use a 10mm socket and ratchet to remove the tail lamp fasteners.
- Keep the fasteners in a safe place.
- Pull straight back gently.
Step 2: Remove the tail lamp assembly
- Use your hands or a trim panel tool to carefully pull the tail lamp straight rearward.
- Do not twist hard. The lamp housing has alignment pins.
Step 3: Remove the turn signal bulb socket
- Twist the rear turn signal bulb socket counterclockwise and pull it out of the lamp housing.
- Remove the bulb from the socket by pulling it straight out.
Step 4: Install the new bulb
- Push the new rear turn signal bulb into the socket until it seats fully.
- Twist the socket back into the lamp housing clockwise until it locks.
Step 5: Reinstall the tail lamp
- Align the lamp with the body openings and slide it straight into place.
- Install the retaining fasteners with the 10mm socket and ratchet.
- Torque to 7 Nm (62 in-lbs).
Step 6: Test the repair
- Turn on the ignition.
- Check the rear turn signal and hazard lights.
- Make sure the lamp is seated flush and there are no warning messages.
✅ After Repair
- Walk around the vehicle and verify both rear signals flash normally.
- Check the brake lights, reverse lights, and tail lights while you are there.
- If the new bulb does not work, recheck the socket fit and bulb seating.
