🔧 Front Window Regulator - Replacement

The front window regulator lifts and lowers the glass inside the door. When it fails, the window may move slowly, stick, drop crooked, or stop working completely. On your Grand Cherokee, the door panel must come off and the glass must be supported while the regulator is replaced.

Difficulty Level: Intermediate | Estimated Time: 1.5-3 hours per door

⚠️ Safety & Precautions

  • Door panels can contain side airbag wiring; disconnect the battery before starting.
  • Wait at least 2 minutes after disconnecting the battery before unplugging door connectors.
  • Support the glass with tape before removing the regulator.
  • Do not run the window motor with the regulator disconnected.
  • Keep screws organized by location.

  • Reinstall the door panel and press all clips into place.
  • Reinstall screws with the Torx T20 screwdriver and 8mm socket.

Step 10: Restore power and test
