🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Remove the door panel
- Use a trim panel removal tool to pry off the trim covers around the handle and armrest.
- Remove the screws with a 7mm socket and Torx T20 screwdriver.
- Use the trim panel removal tool to pop the panel clips loose around the edge.
- Lift the panel up and off the window ledge.
- Unplug the electrical connectors from the switch panel and any courtesy light.
Step 2: Peel back the moisture barrier
- Use a small flat blade screwdriver and your fingers to gently lift the vapor barrier.
- Keep the adhesive clean so it can be reused.
- Do not tear the seal.
Step 3: Disconnect the latch cables and wiring

- Install the new assembly into the door opening and align it with the mounting holes.
- Reinstall the screws with a Torx T30 screwdriver.
- Torque to 8 Nm (71 in-lbs).
Step 6: Reconnect and test the lock system
- Reconnect the actuator connector.
- Reconnect the battery negative cable with a 10mm socket.
- Use the key fob and lock switch to test lock and unlock operation.
- Check that the inside and outside handles release the latch correctly.
- Test it now before putting the panel back on.
Step 7: Reinstall the door panel
- Press the vapor barrier back into place. Use electrical tape or new adhesive if needed.
- Reconnect all door panel wiring.
- Hang the panel on the top window ledge first.
- Press around the edges to snap the clips in place.
- Reinstall the screws with a 7mm socket and Torx T20 screwdriver.
- Reinstall the trim covers.

- Cycle the lock and unlock function several times.
- Confirm the door opens from inside and outside.
- Check that the window switch and speaker still work.
- Listen for clicking or binding from inside the door.
